Jingle bells, jingle bells...

For a Christmas party last weekend, I wanted to do another Christmas inspired manicure. I hadn't used the bells on one of my Monster plates, so I decided gold bells with red ribbons would be perfect for the night!

Konad - red and gold.

Orly Luxe is a great gold for a Konad manicure. I went back and grabbed the similar silver Orly but I haven't tried it out yet. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

I liked this manicure although I'm not so good with stamping with my left hand. Too much pressure and the pattern smears and all runs together which is not a good look at all. Guess that just means I need to practice more!

Konad!

While in Sally's the other day, I found China Glaze Lemon Fizz in the clearance bin for $1.99. Even though it's most definitely out of season, I felt I had to grab it at that price.

It's a gorgeous yellow and is going to be awesome come springtime.

I went ahead and decided to experiment with it so I painted two coats of it and then topped it with a teal polish on one of my Monster plates.

This is a great manicure! I love the color combo and the pattern. This manicure actually helped me to start liking the idea of the Konad better.

My first Konad.

In honor of the cooler weather here in the desert (which is still in the 80s and 90s so far) I decided to do a fall inspired mani. I had finally received my Konad stamper and first Monster Bundle so I used a leaf pattern.

I did think it turned out pretty neat. I liked that it worked even with using more than one color. I will have to spend some time figuring out the best polishes to stamp with since some don't show well.

The downside of using this method, to me, is that I felt like I was cheating. I feel silly saying it, really, but it just seemed too easy. Doing tape manicures definitely takes more time and the only time I really put into this was waiting for my polish to dry. I actually haven't even used the Konad or Monster Bundles since this manicure but I haven't voted it out. I just need to do some more work with it and be happy for an "easy to use but looks complicated" manicure.

Breast Cancer Awareness month

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and pink is it's signature color, I decided to go with a pink/zebra stripe mani. I used Sinful Color Snow Me White, Sally Hansen HD Byte, Kiss Nail Art silver glitter and a black nail pen.

I was worried the pink would be too pale so I did white as the base coat. I did not tape this manicure, just did a strip of pink diagonally down the middle of the white. I lined the pink with the silver glitter and then topped it all with Seche Vite.

After that dried, I used the black nail pen to draw random Vs and lines to make the zebra pattern.

I think this manicure turned out really cute. I need to work some more on the actual zebra print but it's not bad for my first time. I will definitely repeat this in different colors.

On another note, I finally received my first order of Konad along with my Monster bundle pack. I did a couple manis with the stamps today. Some I liked, some I didn't. I really need to see what polishes are best for the design. But I know I'll have fun practicing!
